Hi all, you'll never guess what happened. I'm driving to the bank this saturday when I go to pass a car and just as I get by my throttle stops responding. I coast into a Mobil station and find that I have no gears. The engine runs, the rpm's go up when I step on the throttle but she doesn't move when I put her in gear. I check the transmission fuild to find that it is full but burnt. Well, to make a long story short, my uncles don't have time to help me because they have other work ahead of me so I have to take my car to a local transmission shop to get it looked at. So I am without my little car for a while.

Humph, all cars break. DSM's just seem to break more often because they have the power and torque to break hard parts. Ever see a really fast honda? I mean really fast? I saw a 12 second civic, and a turbo civic at the track friday. No dsm's broke, and thats including curt brown who pulled a 10.3 that night. However, the 12 second civic broke a halfshaft on the way to the track. THe other turbo civic never got a time, because he broke the tranny on teh 1-2 shift. A RX7 lost its engine. A V8 rail laid oil over the track. A 7 second focus broke twice (forget what team, but it was white).

Yeah, it sucks. But, all fast cars break. Try to figure out what caused the failure, torn axle seals can strip the tranny of fluid, causing a seizure or hardening of gears.
