Idea for Talon Thumbnail Spoiler removal.. CHEAP Way!!!

Hey, i'm new here cause i just bought my talon a couple days ago, and i can't stand that thumbnail spoiler... I'm sorry, but it just does not fit with the rest of the car.. My idea would be instead of spending 500 to get it filled and repainted, or 200 for a new deck lid, i think i'm going to take the spoiler off, wax the spot down and get those small plugs from the auto store (you know, the ones you use to plug license plate holes and such).. Paint the plugs the color of my car, that get the eclipse 3 piece wing and pop that sucker on there.. I know you will probably still see the plugs, but hey... don't think it will bother me

That has been talked about before but i personally would not do it. You will need to fill the holes anyways if you were to sell the car in the future. You can also buy a new hatch for $300-400 if you find the right place. I would just but the 97-99 turbo spoiler on with the thumbnail spoiler. I like the way it loks and i am planning to buy one in july. I can send you pictures of it if you give me your e-mail address

Is it possible to have both the thumbnail, and the boomerang on the car at the same time? Has anyone done this, and does anyone have pics?

Yes it is possible to have the boomerang and the thumbnail but i think you have to modify the boomerang one to fit. I don't have pictures but it looks fine. I perfer the turbo one though.

Yeah, I think the easiest thing to do is to find an eclipse being parted out and just swap the entire hatch. The thumbnail + eclipse spoiler looks too overkill IMO.

Ive seen a pic of it but dont know where. It looked cool. I think id rather have one or the other, i wouldnt be able to decide though...

the black car in my sig has thumbnail and boomerang. Looks tight. As long as you don't have a million stickers or obnoxious bodywork, you don't even notice the thumbnail. I think it looks good. Makes the rear end look beefy.

BTW, no modification is necesarry for the boomerang with thumbnail.. just drilling

What color is your 95 Talon? I own a black 97 Eclipse. Are they interchangable i wonder. There might be a difference between the years and that yours is a Talon and mines a Eclipse. Does anyone here know if there is? Also where do you live?

turbs-your car is so nice. I like the talon tail lights with the hi spoiler better than a stock eclipse. It makes me want to spend the $500 to fill the holes. Sonicjet-the hatches should swap fine. Also, if someone is willing to trade my hatch with a thumbnail spoiler for one without a spoiler, I have a black 95 talon tsi and i am in northern california.
