I installed a hks tt type 1 just now. When the car is running, the rpm and speed and battery voltage modes work fine. When I turn the engine off, it does not keep the engine running and count down either in auto or manual mode. However, if the car is running and I turn the key to acc instead of all the way off, it counts down perfectly, and the parking brake kill function works too. So I know there is nothing wrong with the tt itself, but it kind of defeats the puropse if I have to keep the key in at the acc position for it to work. I am wondering why it doesnt work when the key is turned to the off position. Im not sure if it makes a difference, but I have a factory alarm, and I havent done that hack yet. I thought I would make sure I could get it to work before I did that. Any advice??

Check the wiring harness...

If you're using a wiring harness, make sure it's the right one- there are different harnesses for each generation. If you hard-wired it, you might've switched some wires around. I had a similar problem with my Greddy harness. I found out that they gave me a harness for the 2g's... Replaced it with the correct one and my timer has worked fine ever since.

I think that might be it. The part # of the harness I got is 4103-RM001. I went to the Atmosphere Performance web site and for a 1g they have the part number for the harness as 4103-RM001. However, on the 2g page, they have both 4103-RM001 and 4103-RM001A listed. Should I assume I need the 4103-RM001A harness?
