Been having idle problems for a long time and am going to fix it. ISC motor has a bad coil. Anywho know of a place to get one other than from the dealer. I could probably use the coil from another unit. There are two coils in there and only one is bad. The coils look to be easy to replace. Any sources for these things? I did a search and found lots of trouble shooting posts but nothing current on sources for these things.

I changed one coil out of the two as well. Check your local junkyard. You can get an isc from many different cars. 2kgts, newer galants, as well as other cars.

Just be careful when soldering that none of the pegs touch each other... It is pretty tight in there.

Good luck.

I ordered one from this guy.

It was like $35 shipped with a 90 day warrantee. I figure even if it craps out I can always pull one of the coils and use it in my old servo. My experience with junkyards is they want half of retail for a worn out part. I looked into upgrading my brakes a while back and the guy wanted a lot of money for the calipers and brackets and then he wanted my old calipers. He did not get my money or my old calipers.

Well I got my used ISC motor from the guy below and I got it on time and it was only $35 delivered. The problem is the guy is fond of bead blasting things that don't need to be bead blasted like so many used and rebuilt parts suppliers tend to do because it makes things look pretty. There were glass beads all inside the unit and the screw mechanism was full of grit. BEWARE if you deal with this guy. I am glad I took the cover off the thing and investigated. The thing probably would not have worked at all or not for long not to mention the abrasive crap that would end up in my engine. I ended up pulling the coil unit off and blasting it with air real good and reused my old screw mechanism. It is working to some extent but I have some other issues. The idle is crappier than its usual normal crappy. I need to see if the EGR is leaking and maybe clean the throttle body. The car has idled crappy since new and the dealer said it was a lean misfire condition. The Talons of the same year did not have this problem. The only thing that cures it is unplugging the O2 sensor, which is not something you want to do for an extended period of time. It did confirm the lean idle condition because unplugging O2 sensors makes it go full rich.
