im wondering if anyone has had this problem or something similar..
here's an example of whats going on in my case:
freeway/highway cruising at part throttle. if i wanna pass and give it maybe half throttle or more, starts missing... feels like a cylinder dies. i cant get rid of the mis unless i pull over and turn the car off. if i hold the throttle down any amount (part, half or full) for a small amount of time, it throws a CEL, misfire in cylinder 3. this wont only happen after cruising or on the freeway or highway. happens on the street also when i make any kind of attempt to accelerate any decent amount.

now, this is what i've done to try to remedy this problem:
checked compression......... ok
checked plugs.......... ok (plugs and wires only 10,000 miles old/magnacores with stock ngk's only newer)
checked spark patterns on a scope........ #3 looked kinda flat
switched wires 2 and 3..... misfire stayed in cylinder 3
changed coil pack for cylinders 2 and 3.... misfire occurred again, and waiting to read code and see which cylinder.

if anyone has any input it would help. im planning to switch injectors 2 and 3 and trying again. hope someone can help.
 
i cant wait till i get a logger borrowed so i can see whats going on with my car because i have that exact same problem except i dont know where the miss is coming from...when im on the highway im at ruffly 55 60mph ish.. the car starts to miss as i go partial to half.. its gets to the point i have to down shift to forth sum times 3rd to clear it up n go back up to speed... :confused:
 
Could there be a problem with the ecu? Or the wireing? Possibly?

i havent done the injector swap (time issue) yet but these r the mods on my car:

injen short ram, w/ bov recirculated
magnecore 8.5mm wires
apexi gt spec exhaust
apexi gt spec downpipe that i took off ti i get a similar size cat

what mods did u have on urs when it happened?
im using 91 octane gas. (as good as it gets in good ol' cali)
 
my car still misses.. ii finally got another stock coil pack in my car. im running... 6bolt 2g head... RRE CAS harness, black lid CAS.. stock injectors...stock wires...ngk plugs factory spec... intake.. and the rest completely stock... over all the car is stock... just a 6bolt lol... on 93oct...
 
I have the same problem did you ever get it fixed. I also have a 6 bolt on 2nd gen. head. Its starts misfiring and then seems to boggle until the ignition is turned off has any one finaly found out what the problem is, was it an injector?

usually when they dont reply as to whether it was fixed or not. it means they gave up trying to fix it:rolleyes:
 
i had the same problem until it got worse? I started to get multiple cylinder misfires under the same conditions. The one day it would not start and turns out i had to chang the power transister and, Cam angle sensor. Hope that helps someone.
