Mod friendly INSPECTION (not emission) shops NOVA

Former DSM "bro" here.

I have a catalytic on my '97 Supra with a single turbo, and I do not need emissions, but I do need inspection. I had a hell of a time getting my inspection done last time just because the shops would look under the hood and say they didn't want to risk giving me an inspection, even thou I would point out it's not emissions and I had a catalytic.

Can anyone please point me to a shop that is Supra friendly and would give me an inspection without the hassle. I do not need emissions, just a state inspection.

So you are looking for a safety inspection? or do they still do a visual emissions inspection?

Hi Bishil, yes- I need only a safety inspection. They still do a visual- but since I have a catalytic, it shouldn't matter. Shops are scared shitless of the $100k fine and since they see the bling under the Supra's hood, they are hesitant. This is why I'm trying to find a mod friendly shop that would understand.

It's too bad you are in D.C. and not VA. If it were a VA inspection you were after, I'd be willing to look it over. I'm also like 5 hours away, so that doesn't help much either.

I know it's been a while, but if you're still needing an inspection, I have a buddy in Bealeton (on 17 north of Fredericksburg) that would for sure inspect your car. If you still need it shoot me a PM, and I'll try to hook you up. According to google, it's about an hour drive, so it would give you a reason to have a decent cruise as well.
