Well the assumption was if they were leaking or even if not, they would be replaced. I certainly wouldn't spray the board down and just leave the old caps.:huh:

I still disagree. It will remove the electrolyte, on the entire board, under components and all. I had leaking caps, replaced them and sprayed the board down. No issues for 4 years.
 
Agreed but splitting hairs. The assumption was to replace them regardless. Because it IS a ticking timebomb.

We still agree that after removal/replacement of the caps the board should be cleaned. I simply wanted to point out to use a zero residue electronics cleaner than say brake clean, WD40, or soap and water.

With some people on this board, you just never know.
