So I finally got home from iraq for the two weeks and here are some pictures of what I did with my free time. Enjoy and please feel free to give feedback, even negative feedback is better then no feed back at all. ;)

+1 I still lose sleep trying to figure out why the hell I sold my 16g powered 1990. :dunno:

Good work so far Ryan. I love that ETS FMIC! Hows the spool on that 68HTA with a stroker?

Sorry about that, I figured I would chop up the pictures in different post. Also thank you a lot. I actually bought this car when I was 17 back in 2007. Blew it up like a young dumbass. Sold it to a friend of the family, then joined the army. Where about 4 years passed by and I thought for sure this car was long gone. However, I called the old man up and he asked if I wanted the car back so I jumped on it the first chance I could. So here I am a little less than 4 years later and I have the same talon back that I had in high school.

MB motoring 747's!!! First rims you had on it! I had these on my first car ever, a 95 tsi. Man I hated those rims but I kinda miss them haha. something about how they had no lip just made me mad haha. But damn, your up in Holland, I head up to South Haven, Holland, Saugatuck and what not all the time on our boat. Might have to come take em of your hands if you still have em! Hang them on the wall or something to remember my first car.

Sounds good man, Still have all four rims w/ the hankook tires that have perfect tread on them. I clear out of the army in jan. So just shoot me a pm for them and i'm still trying to sell everything else as well. The small 16g has a rebuild and has about 300 miles on it. The evo III mani is in perfect shape besides the normal heat corrosion on it.

Ipm sorry if I missed it. But how did you put your stroker together? Was it random parts or was it a kit? Giving you any trouble? I've been wanting to do a stroker kit for the longest time with this car but just can't seem to save the money for it.

Hey man,
well I need to correct my mods, but it's the 2.3L stroker. I missed spelled that. It is the complete kit from dsmparts.com. I went with a complete kit due to the fact that I am still really under expierenced as in I am still learning my parts and what works and doesn't. So I really didn't feel comfortable piecing my motor together as a lot of guys do.

How are your IAT's with that FMIC and the 68HTA? I'm curious to see if the 68HTA's wheel is that much more efficient than the Evo 3. My 16G produced so much heat, it was beyond a pain, and I wonder had I had something like an ETS core would it have been any better.

Hey cracked,
Sorry now numbers or info on issues with running to hot just yet. Ever since the start of the build back in august the cars only been ran to pit it on the trailor. The only idea or info on the intercooler and turbo is hear say and spread sheet information an flow chart comparisons. I went with the ported exhaust side with the intentions of getting that extra spool on it. From my knowledge of looking at flow charts the hta isn't worth the time or money if you are already running a 16g Platform. It does outflow the 16g family but for the price to flow difference I personally would go with at the least a 20g. As for the ets fmic once again I'm going on reputation and hear say. However, I'm guessing from the crappy smic and nylon braided piping it came with the car it will cool that hot side down plenty. My only concern and will have to wait to see is how hot the motor itself runs now that the fmic is taking away that extra airflow to my radiator. Should have an actual personal experience within the coming weeks after putting my ecmlink in and getting a proper tune in the car so I can get IAT's, motor temps, knock count and the whole 9 yards.

It's a 91, and thanks. Suprisingly the pictures make the car look a lot better, It's actually got about an inch thick of dust and dirt from sitting in a garage for 4 years with only being moved for starting and running purposes and to transport it between barns. It has one pretty good size dent on the driver side from some asshole that hit it backing up. Other than that the paint itself is in incredible shape. For it being the original paint job it has little to no sun spots on her.
