Is it a Pshhhh

Not so much of a fart but a simple air release?

And This would be your BOV

Compressed air is being released though your Blow off vaulve.

 

Could be the BOV although it doesn't normally sound like a fart (not one of mine). Usually the noise goes up because the metal piping resonates more than rubber/plastic piping does. Hope it helps

 

Ha, I'd describe my 1g bov + hard UICP as a "fart" I suppose. Personally I usually refer to it as a "bark", but it doesn't have the PSHH sound that a unrecirculated BOV has.

 

I have the 1g BOV and UICP on my car and it still makes the PSSHHH sound.

 

OP, are you venting the bov or recirc? Try the 1g bov quick release mod..it may get rid of the fart sound. Not sure though...one mans "Pssshhh" is another mans "Fffffarrrrrt". LOL

Why would it make a sound if the bov wasnt releasing?

 

If the 1g bov is crushed too much it will make a turkey sound.
Much like a fart.

It will get louder and more annoying as you increase boost.

 

Yeah, I call it a gobble.

 

Maybe some Compressor Surge?

If the BOV wasn't releasing, it wouldn't make any noise.

 

Im gonna use this thread because I don't want to start a new one. I was wondering then what does the 1gen BOV sound like normally? Is it loud when recirculated or can you barely hear it?

 

Its louder than a 2g bov, well I changed mine the same time as the upper intercooler pipes so they coulda done it too. Now mine does a little whistle (resonance sounding) anytime i am decelerating, NOT to be confused with the "blowing off!" I heard the same about all Road Race Enginering pipes though...
