oil in intake pipe and turbo?

the other night when I was trying to install my new intake I noticed that my intake pipe had a thick layer of oil on the inside and there was a little bit of oil on the turbo...but my turbo still spools fine and the cars runs great(after 15 minutes) so what could the problem be?

I think it's time for the little K&N (or a similar one) breather filter to make its appearance.:p
Exactly, or you can get one of those inline plastic fuel filters from Auto Zone (2-3 bucks, they are white plastic with yellow filter element inside)... plug one end to the Valve cover nipple and run the other end down to the bottom of the car... the leak will be minimum, it might even take several weeks before the oil gets past the filter and starts slowly dripping, in which case you can get a new filter if you want...

a better way is to get the type that flow both in and out at the top of the filter, that way the oil stays down in the can, still on my 1st one after 3 mo.

A Greddy catch can will allow you to still plug the hose to the intake to mantain the pcv effect without pulling oil in the intake. Or you can just make your own catch can via Ace Hardware.

Catch cans and such are good ideas but don't forget to check your PVC valve too.
They need to be replaced regularly and MUST seal against boost pressure or you'll just blow oil.
None of the aftermarket valves I've tested sealed against any pressure applied to the barbed side (to the intake manifold). Used to be all the ones I got from Mitsubishi sealed but over the past year I've have new OEM ones fail testing before installation.

i've been using a fuel filter for six months now, and when i swapped my bumper(97+ conversion) i took out the intercooler to see if it worked and no oil in the intercooler either.

p.s. after the oil goes thru the intake it setteles in the intercooler:eek:
