So here's the situation. My old engine crank walked on me so I picked up another 7 bolt short block off of someone. They said that the valves kissed the pistons on their setup. Timing belt broke or something. So I used that short block and everything else off of my car that i had before. I statically timed it perfect, as pictures show, but when i started it up the valves sound like they are tapping the pistons. when the spark plug wires are off and I crank the engine i hear no tapping or knocking, whether spark plugs are in or out. As soon as i hook the wires back up and the engine starts then the tapping starts. It's not lift er tick, its louder than that. It makes no sense at all. The timing is perfect. The angle that i have the camera makes the crank look about one tooth off but its dead on.
