The deep cherry color really 'pops' in the sun, I am also going to paint my brake calipers that same color...valve cover will be powder coated black, valve cover lettering in the deep cherry color as well. Engine bay is not near completion, but all the gauges and original interior lighting has bas been changed to LED white and red.

I am going to tint the circle reverse lights on the tail end, but the color matched center, and tinted tails really change the appearance of the car pretty drastically, the "clear" side markers have also been tinted(not pictured).

Comments are welcome!

More pics of the paint, esp in the light! What paint code did you use? It looks alot darker then factory color..
1 coat of duplicolor grey primer
6 coats of duplicolor metalcast Red (MC-200); wet sand with 1500grit sandpaper after third coat
4 coats krylon acrylic "crystal clear"

wet sand again with 1500, then buff to a beautiful finish...

Process is time consuming, but it can be done, and turn out really well. Most important is the prep work.

More pics will come soon with them in the light

Oh yea, like I said before, it 'pops'! That metal cast paint is to make something metal look anodized. Pretty much the only way to do that is no primer, and the piece your spraying has to be polished, or chrome...but I believe the properties in the paint itself causes the difference from bright shade in the sun/well lit area to a subtle dark cherry color in dim/dark areas...I am happy with the result

Nicely done. what meters did you change out ?

I think I want to weld some pieces of intercooler piping together to make a custom fit for my front mount. So many projects and so much time haha.
