I did a search on wheel hop because I get that really bad sometimes and I HATE it! Not only am I not going forward, I can just hear my car saying "Ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch!"

Anyway, a lot of the replys on how to get rid of it the cheapest were Prothane motor mount inserts. Are they easy to install, or to they require lifting the motor to get to the mounts? Anyone have any pics of their bay with them in? That's how I learn best, thanks...

I would argue perhaps going against engine mounts. Because I feel if the vibration from the engine is somewhat absorbed by the engine mounts and if you have a rock solid mount installed, it gets transfered even more to the body itself which will in the long run makes things creak and squeel. It's unforunately about the wheel hop thing though.

The rear is a PITA if you still have the charcoal canister installed in the car. The easiest way to do the rear is to remove the battery, battery tray, and all the other shit that will be in your way and hope you can get a long bar in there to break it loose. Let's just say it's not fun. It's almost easier to just drop the tranny and do it that way. Oh and P.S. Don't listen to Infinity, the vibrations aren't that much worse. Your car will get more damage from having a subwoofer in it than installing mount inserts.

So is it normal for the front inserts to have a little edge protruding from both sides. I squeezed them in with a C clap all around as far as they would go, but they still look a little out. Is this normal?
heres how the drivers side looks in my car when it was done.

Not meaning to high jack the thread or anything but have you all installed them in all 4 mounts or just the timing belt and tranny mounts?

If you're talking to me, all 4 mounts.
Anyone;) Just want a general consensus, because that's what I've been debating about.

just do all 4 and save your self the headache of changing them later on. plus its only like 90 bucks for the full kit.
Agreed. The front and back are mad easy to do. Just taking out the back one is a bitch. Remove the battery and you should be fine. No need to press those out either. Side mounts are really easy to remove, it's just a bitch to press them out if you don't have an hydraulic press.

Ive got all 4. Definately helps. The vibration from them really isnt too bad, at least I dont think so. People that have never riden in the car are like "why the hell does this thing vibrate?"

I actually have polyurethane bushing all over the car, front and rear sway, end links, ball joint boots, I kinda went crazy and ordered everyone I could get for my 1g awd.

I'm actually starting to doubt my answer......I kind of remember the 2g having only one sandwich insert as well. Hopefully someone who has done this recently can clarify. I know for a fact that the 1g is as I stated above.

Do them all it's NOT that bad. And most of you probably have b-shafts too.

I'm running a buschur motor, no b-shafts and ALL 4 prothane mounts. It's not that bad. You get used to it really fast. And the pro's TOTALLY outweigh the cons. Unless you're a total pussy and can't handle some rattling keys.
