Timing belt broke so I pulled the head out to get new valves and have it rebuilt. After searching for information on head bolts and arp's I've found that the stock head bolts should not be reused. Is this true even if the shank length is within the normal limits given in the shop manual? My car is a 97 so I have the stretch bolts. I wouldn't hesitate to get arp's, but RRE says they've been in back order for a month now and don't know when they will be available. Besides this, is it also nessesary to retap the head bolt holes to clean the threads? Searching for info on this gave mixed results. Some say if it goes in fine then don't or that with apr's you don't have too either. Lastly, is the metal intake gasket reusable if it is not crack or damaged? Any info on this would be greatly appreaciated. Thanks.

whoa, actually got a reply ;)

Anyways thanks for the input Taboo. I was afraid that my questions wouldn't have any definitive answers. I'll probably end up just waiting for arp's, forgo the retap, and getting new gaskets. Thanks again.
