Every time I start my car in the morning I hear a pretty loud ratteling sound that comes from the engine bay. The sound comes and goes every few seconds. Now, I cant really tell if its lifter tick, but the sound doesnt seem to coming from the valve cover. What else can it be or what else can cause this sound?

Not sure if the turbo spyder (asuming that is what you have!), has a header heat shield, but if it does, check the bolts and make sure it's not bend a vibrating against something.

AWD Terror, I went ahead and lifted my hood and started the car. I started listening and now it sounds more like a knocking/ratteling sound. Anyways, the sound seems to be coming from the timing belt and pulley/belt area. And like I said before the sound is audible for a few seconds and goes away, but comes back after a few seconds and keeps on going like that till the car reaches normal tempratures. Also, what does lifter tick sound like(please give examples)? Sorry, I know its a stupid question, but I did a search and had no luck. So, is it lifter tick or something else, its driving me crazy and its kinda scaring me, lol.

Ok, that's a bit more to work with... ;) My car makes a few funny sounds when it's started up from cold (esp. real cold like it is now) and it's nothing much to worry about. When the car is warmed up those sounds go away.
Lifter tick - well it sounds like what it's called! It's kindof a rattling, and it comes from the 'top' of the engine, right under the valve cover... whadya know that's where the lifters are ;) I really can't be more specific because once you've heard it you generally go "well that must be lifter tick then"...

If you're really worried about it, now might be a time to find a local DSM club in your area. Hooking up with someone else who has a DSM (preferrably turbo) could help alleviate some of your fears.
