I've noticed that my 1993 DSM center air spoiler was misaligned and had some water inside of it, and I tried to remove it to see if it had something wrong. So I tried to pull it off according to the service manual by removing the following parts first:
1) Rear wiper arm and grommet
2) Center aero brake light
3) Liftgate trim
After that, I tried to pull it off but the left side refuses to move!! It appears to be stuck or glued in some way I couldn't remove it completely to see inside. The previous owner did some s&*t (sorry) and I could see that some of the inner tapping screw clips are broken/loose with some rust around them.
But my doubt here is: Do I need to remove the rear wiper motor assembly in order to remove the center air spoiler?? Or do I have to pull it even harder?
I want to get it off to clean all rusty spots and replace the missing/broken tapping screws/clips. Pictures of the spoiler's inner side are welcome, if possible
Another doubt: I could see that it has some sponge inside... The spoiler is supposed to have sponge inside of it?? Or only tapping screws and clips, and nothing else??
Thanks for reading,
Roger.
