removing silencer (Apex N1 Exhaust)

When I got my N1 catback from Apex it came with the silencer already in it. Heres the problem: the biatch wont come out. I took out the bolt and started to try taking it out but it won't budge. I can see a gap around the inside of the tip between the tip and the silencer, I got a knife in there to see if maybe there were spot welds or something and the knife came out with a gooey substance like glue  anyone run into the same problem. It kinda makes me think that it's not the silencer, but its black like the silencer and the pictures I've seen of N1's without the silencer are all silver inside the tip. Any ideas?

This topic comes up once a month or so. There is a special removal tool to get the tip out made by apxi for 10-15 bucks. You can get one from any of the apxi dealers. It is a nice thick red bar with a hook on the end you insert in the tip and pull. Works great

thats about damn well mucked up, i didnt have on mine when I got it. The reason I dont use my silencer is when you try to put it on it NEVER aligans, and if you do get it put on right its a bitch to get off, and Im not going to 15 bucks just to get something out. I just use the silencer as a prop to keep my hatch up cuz the damn struts dont work. Thats another to fix project

Yes, use a 1.5" wood dowell, or a broomstick. Shove it in the hole, wiggle it around and pull the silencer out. Any piece of steel with a lip on it (to grab the silencer) will work. It is easier to di it with the exhaust ON the car....
