Hey i have a question, if i decide to change the valve cover i know im gonna have to change the gasket, and put the seal thing, but i dont know what that liquid seal is called, if anyone knows please drop some info hehe...ok main question if i take off the vc would it somehow mess with timing in ANY way (i doubt it) but i want to be on the safe side...thx for the info...

Liquid gasket is called RTV. Use it sparingly. Little bit in the hole for the half moon, on either crack on top of it after you put it in, and then about 1/2 inch where the mating surface goes up over the cams and the CAS.

No, doing anything with the VC will not affect your timing.

Maui summed it up good. RTV is good as long as you run a nice bead of it on there. Make sure you Scrape off all of the gasket that is on there when you take it off because you want to get it as flat as possible for it to not leak and it seal right.

And exactly as he said, The timing will not be affected by taking off the valve cover.

Do not use too much RTV under the half moon. You risk splitting the half moon in half and that will cause a major oil leak.

Don't know if you've gone to get stuff yet, but you don't need the cam shaft oil seals, but you do need the half moon gasket. There's a technical name for it, but I don't remember/know what it is. Also, you don't necessarily need the oil cap seal, but it can't hurt.

Camshaft seal = 1/2 moon gasket

Same thing ^_^

No, not the same thing. There are to cam shaft seals that aren't typically replaced when you do a valve cover gasket.

If you are going to an autozone for knock off parts the Mitsu part numbers won't help you much. Anyway...you will need:
(1) MD125939
(4) MD125940
(1) MD372348
