I thought this is supposed to be a N/A forum. Yet everyone that posts here is Turbo this or Turbo that... It is really getting played out. It seems that the focus of this forum is being lost by everyone and their mother that wants to jump on the bandwagon and get a Turbo. If they are so intersted in Turbo why dont they just post in the Turbo forum. I've literally seen on over abundance of threads here about converting from N/A to Turbo. Maybe if their was just one thread of this instead of it cloging up the whole forum. I feel that the N/A people that have a legit question keep's getting bumped because of one of the 800 turbo threads. Maybe it is just me but it my
.02 cents.

Well those who are NT now and want to go turbo are getting their questions answered also.... I look at it as just another MOD for those of us who weren't fortunate enough to get boost from the get go. The name of the forum isn't ALL-MOTOR NON TURBO.

#4 ·
Well I obviously agree.... the SEARCH button helped me out a lot =). But the same people who ask all these questions about putting turbos on their cars are the same ones who don't know about the SEARCH button.

I agree. This part of the forum is pretty lame. It seems we are at a lack of good ideas to make our N/A's faster! Oh well, I still love my N/A and will try and do some mods soon. I'm going to do a compression test and depending on the results I might get some CAMS put in when I get my timing belt done. NOw that would be something to discuss!

i agree i personally have about 300 posts in here about turboing my nt, and how to do it.

i'd love to see more guys going all motor, but its pricey, and it seems thst most the people in this forum aren't the richest people :D, otherwise they'd prolly have the turbo version. i know i'm broke so when the opportuniy came along to buy a new motor, i convinced my parents that mine was getting ready to die so they got it for me.

there's a reason that there isnt' much talk of REAL mods for the NT's... it's because it's too damn expensive and we're all cheap bastards ;)

yyeeaa to many guys asking the same question over and over about how to Turbo a N/T... I just dont understand why there isn't a Turbo kit for the 1g n/t's out there like there is for the 2g... it shouldnt be to hard to do it... but it's expensive ohh well thats my .02 cents

1990 Eclipse 2.0L n/t
*Headers and 2.5inch exhaust w/ punched out cat
*Act Clutch 2100
*Suspension Tech Lowering Springs
**New belts, water pump. and oil seals
plan on getting Injen Intake soon

Is it the cop or am I the one that's really dangerous?

And until then, there will be people on here asking us how to do it. Unless we put up a VFAQ....

#11 ·
Well maybe a VFAQ should be put in place for this, I dont have anything against going turbo but it just becomes an eyesore everytime I come into this forum. I am also pretty sure that not everyone has totally maxed out their N/T and that the final upgrade they can make is converting to an aspirated engine. well once again my .03 cents

#12 ·
yea i wanted to do a vfaq, but didn't have the time or the skills to do so.

BULLSHIT!!! THERE ARE TONS OF MODS... WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN 93???

#15 ·
oh i know there's tons but alot of us aren't willing to pay alot of money for small to medium sized gains. personally, i would spend any amount of money i could find to make an NT fast, to me there's nothing like all motor! BUT all motor does cost... alot

Ok, I dont own a Na, My good freind Kim does. Out of all the things he has done including a Archer header, NOTHING has helped out as much as hacking the maf and playing with the timing. So might say Im lying becouse I said hack the MAF, There is more out there than removing the honeycomb on a turbo maf. The NAs (1g) Maf is difrent, It has 2 small barrels in there that can be cleaned out a bit, It is to be Taken slowley. If it were me I would buy another maf to play with and try it on. Another thing that helped it run leaner is to pull the hosethat the front cam cover vent is on and run a hose to a K and N valvecover filter to allow more unmeterd air in the motor. The car is going to probley get a 4g64 sometime and also is having a ITC installed. Also one more thing the car has a Cyclone intake manifold on it.............

HI

One quick question:

How did you manage to activate the butterfly valves in the Cyclone intake???
I always thought they were activated by positive manifold pressure (aka boost)!!! But there is obviously no positive pressure in a NT!!!

just curious

If you want to se what you can do to a 1.8 without turboing it go to all things 1.8 in here. The master seems to be miketribal. He says he got his 1.8 to produce 150 without turbo or nos. I guess he paid two grand to do all this. Form reading that forum it looks like he had a some parts machined and fitted some parts normally for 2 liters.

EvulFlea if their is a wealth of information please tell me why everyone continues to ask about how to turbo this and that. Maybe it is just not enough info, or it's just not in the right spot.
Like Segaboyvt said there is a thread for all things 1.8, maybe wouldnt be a bad idea for a 2.o.

Hi Zach,

what do you think about inviting this guy to DSMtalk???

For some reason, I'm having a very hard time believing that a Cyclone intake manifold would benefit a NA car. Is anyone else with me on that one?
