my cousin recently purchased a 95 gst and it's been having problems with missing during idle and acceleration. it has gotten progressively worse and on a couple of occasions the rpm needle went wild shifting around all over the place. now it wont even start anymore because there is no spark. we've replaced the plugs, plug wires, coil pack, injectors, and ecu with parts from my talon but to no avail. (my car runs perfectly by the way) the only thing i can think of now is the ignition module (or ignitor?) but i dont know where it is. any insight into this baffling problem would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

I don't think there's something called igniton module, you could be talking about Power Tran Unit which is controlled by ECU/PCM to fire coils, but as Dsmman said its good idea to check fuses first.

the ignition module is the same as the power transistor... but where is it? the car has a 6-bolt with a 2g head. we have checked all fuses and they are fine. where is the mpi fuse? i will check it again to make sure.

I disagree. Typical GM igniton moudle recieves and process signals directly from engine and PCM/ECM and makes calls when to fire each coil. While our cars have smiple transitor(s) (on/off switch) which is directly controlled by ECM/PCM. ECM/PCM turns trans. on (current flow) or off (no current flow) through primary coils. This build up magnetic field in primary coil(s) causing your secondary coils to fire a spark.

First gen its close to coil packs and timing belt cover. Second gen I think is close to firewall (not sure 100%).
