I threw a rod in my 90 AWD awhile back. I bought a used J-spec motor to stick in it. I got everything put back together and hooked up, but now it has a huge cold start problem. It used to have a problem once in awhile with the old motor, but not this bad. It takes a lot of starting fluid and time (1/2 hour) to get it started. Then when it starts, it runs EXTREMELY rich. My AFR gauge is pegged in the rich. I checked for boost leaks everywhere, including the intake manifold. I have quadroople checked every connection of every sort and have found no solutions. It is throwing a trouble code, but I don't know how to read them. I am in the process of upgrading the fuel system anyways, so I am going to throw some 550's, a fuel pump and a pressure regulator in it and see if that makes a difference. Does anyone have any solutions? I am getting really frustrated. I have been half tempted to tow it to a cliff and commit insurance fraud!
Please help save my dsm!
Thanks
