yeah they are wrong, the issue is the depth:

rear: 6x9 (my kenwoods are 2 15/16 and fit)

front: 6 3/4 (lines up pretty close to stock holes)

 

Depth is the key then - got it.

I have some stupid deep speakers. They're 3 3/8" deep and fit. All you need to do is cut or grind down that alignment pin that comes into the speaker area. Or at least I had to because the magnet is almost as wide as the speaker itself. I may have also put a few small washers underneath the speaker bracket to push it a lil further out. Point is, you CAN fit some pretty beefy speakers in there with only some minor modification.

 

Seems that Infinity 6x9s are 3 1/4 deep? Sounds like a problem? I see JBL's that are 2 ohm and 2 15/16

Front speakers
Dash: 4"
Front Door: 6-3/4"

Far rear speakers
Rear Seat Side Panels: 6x9"

I went and got Pioneer 6-3/4 and 6x9 and i'll be got dogged if they didn't fit better than my stock. Almost as if it were begging for the love and closeness. Sounds absolutely marvelous as well. Good luck.
