Well I was power flushing my coolant hoses to clean out my heater core(no heat) and I got a litte crazy with the water hose. I wound up spraying the the engine bay with water. Anyway, upon starting up and testing my car (I now have heat :D ) I noticed my tach moving for the first time. I had the car for a while now and I am just now fixing it up. I had earlier in the week taken out the gauge cluster and tested the tach, it tested fine. So now I'm thinking it must be a bad connection in my engine bay since it worked for a little while.

Here's my question: which wires should I check in the engine for my tach? Any location or wire color info would be very helpful.

Also, what should I clean the wires/connections with?

Sorry about the long post. I also wanted to say thanks to everyone on this board for providing all the great info this board provides.

You can get a contact cleaner and also a terminal grease to keep the contact good at Radio Shack or from Parts Express (www.partsexpress.com) The wires are located right by where the spark plug wires plug into the coil pack, on the intake manifold a little bit below the intake on the drivers side, its the long flat plug. like 2" long. Plugs into a lil black triangle thingy. hope that helps

Well, I bought some contact cleaner and sprayed all the connections that I could see that might have something to do with the tach, but it doesn't work. Is their a wire/connection in particular I should be looking for?

Another question. Would spraying down my engine bay with water hurt my car (assuming I let it dry for a couple of hours afterward before starting it)?
