I have to say. For you to even consider this trbo for your vehicle, just means you lost your balls.

 

How about you kick me down some money and I'll buy something bigger . Students who work part time and commute can't always afford the big stuff right away.

It's not that bad of a turbo. If you don't wan't to do the install kit for a 16g and don't have huge hp goal's this turbo will work just fine.

I'm not sure on that. The 16G is known to be a better turbo. It flows close to a 16G, but I'm pretty sure the 16G is more efficient.

 

They both flow the same, though I have heard of the 16G having better top end and the T28 better lower spool. I have a T28 and its an ok turbo. Got 295hp out of it. It does spool quick and put you back into your seat, but does lack alittle in the top end IMO.

 

Can anyone come up with actual maps for both turbos for real comparison??

Sorry im not going to answer your question either because i personally dont know. I just thought it was funny how everyone starts talking about the differences between the 16G and the t28 and completely forgot about the original question all together.

 

Post a picture of what you have, you'll probably have a better chance of getting an answer.

I think you'll have to do some wheel measurements. Good news though. The compressor wheel surely looks bigger than the t25 .

You have a 62 trim 60 mm compressor wheel (1.86"/2.36"), 79 trim turbine wheel (1.875"/2.11"). Its equivalent to an early FPT28/28 that Forced Performance use to sell back in 2001. Rated 34-35 lb/min @ 14.7 psi, choke @ 37.5 lb/min. I've datalogged as high as 40.7 lb/min on a stock 2g MAF. A little underrated from the factory and closer to a Big 16g in terms of flow.

Forced Performance in 2002 went to the 76 trim turbine wheel, slightly smaller exducer with 9 blades instead of 10, which rumor has it gave an additional 15 h.p. in top end. This is their famous Big28.

I wouldn't sweat the differences. I've pulled +400 h.p. crank (DSMLink estimate) out of the exact same turbo as you have shown, and I'm not done with it yet.
