T3/T4 Setup

Well it looks like the t-toosmall is gonna be thrown out very soon.... Well in the next couple months it will be.... I might buy one of my bro's friends t3/t4 setup from his 95 gst..... the turbo has a nasty ass trim bc he bought the turbo from turbonetics for 1100 and he blew the turbo up within the first month and he sent it back and ups some how lost his turbo.... So he did not have a turbo for 2 months so turbonetics was like ok what turbo did u have and he was like a t3/t4 but he told them what ever trim and everything good to put in it... It ended up being a 1700 dollar turbo and they had to send it to him and he got it put it in and then took it to the track and he ran like a 13.5 but he blew his tranny half way down the track and rolled in a 13.5 so u know that has to be a 12 sec potential turbo.... I will also buy off him his apexi front mount, his injectors (i'm not sure what size)
s-afc, a-vcr, act 2600...... i'm thinkin about giving him 2000 bucks for everything and my stock parts he is pretty cool and he is selling his car so he would make money on me buying his shit and giving him the stock parts and him selling it stock he would make more money probably......

How do you guys like the t3/t4 setup on ur cars ? I mean this turbo is really huge 1700 bucks has to be a big ass turbo haha.... Do you think 2000 is a good deal for all that?

Also do you guys think i should send my tranny in to get rebuilt with alot stronger parts? So it could handle all that power?

All the way on the other side. I am about 60 miles north of Philadelphia. I was just curious. Sounds like you may make out good if your just trading some stock parts and that amount of cash if everything is in good shape. I would suggest finding out more info. on the turbo just to make sure its gonna be useful for what you want to do with your car.

T3/T4 turbo can support anywhere between 250 and 550HP. It's impossible to answer your questions if you don't list (or don't know) the wheel trims and housing A/Rs. It's like asking if TD05 (which could be the stock 14B, small16G, Big16G or even 20G) is a good turbo worth $800... Any stock $150 14B has a low 12's potential too. If the T3/T4 is able to support 450+HP and you plan on getting the most out of it, you'll need to worry about the 7-bolt engine being able to support the HP as well. As for the tranny, there are people making 250HP and trashing their trannys while running high 14's and - on the other hand - people making 450HP and running mid 11's on completely stock trannys. It's all about driving...

1700 seems a lot for a T3/T4. Are you talking about a whole kit or just the turbo for 1700? You can probably get a T-series sized turbo for 1700.

www.diamondstarmotorsports.com has nice garrett turbo kits. they include waste gates, o2, hardware, blah blah....check it out.

how fast you want your car to go? as taboo said, there are garretts that will rip the 7bolt (6 as well) a new asshole. try to find out more on the entire setup and price and you will get opinions on whether it is fair or not. also get the specs of that garrett so you dont end up with some beast that wont spool up in this millenium
