i was just woundering what other stock dsm's run in the 1/4 stock.i have a 90 eclipse GSX i ran a 13.7.ALL STOCK.i think thats the fastest stock eclipse in the world.if u have fasert let me know i wanna see.and if u dont belive its all stock i live in houston and i am willing to show it to anyone who wants to check it to se if its all stock.

I dont want to start any wars, but that is kind of hard to believe. Most mags qotes them as 15.2 stock, and 14.8 is probably more like it. But 13.7 is VERY low for a completeley stock car. If I wasnt in NY id come take a look.

Welp not for nothing i'm going to have to agree with turbolover2 (not starting no flames here), BUT DAMN thats nice for a STOCK DSM. my best time 1/4 was 15.1 @ 88 TOTALLY stock. do i believe? NO.. just stating my only 2 cents brotha;). don't take it personlly.

Most of us don't believe it... I hate to speak for a lot of you guys but come on... 13's stock? No way. No flaming but even if you did show us your time slip we wouldn't know if your car was actuallly stock... by the way what did the guy next to you run on the track... your timeslip have two times on them or something?

?

yeah there is NO WAY it ran 13.7's..Maybe there are mods you are not aware of? what was the elevation? maybe the track is on the earths core? Mine did 14.7's stock and 14.0 w/ fish valve and exhaust.
There was some dork at the track last summer who had "WOLDS FASTEST STOCK ECLIPSE".I think it was Eclipse. Anyways he had it in shoe polish on his back window. It was hilarious. I watched him run a 14.9 or somethin.. I dont know what he was thinking..

oh and good point about the timeslip. My friend was racing fastest street car shootout. He runs high 11's (in a Camaro) and he raced a mid 11 sec car. He got his timeslip back and according to the slip he lost to a 10.2 with his time being a 10.8 @ 400mph! haha.. the messed up thing was they counted it as a legit qualification and the other guy qualified. This track is owned my NHRA btw..

take care,
Sam

No way

Thats very very hard to believe, My gsx got a 15.4 ET stock. Got any pics of your car?

I'm assuming that is an AWD. My 1992 Plymouth Laser fwd ran 14.3 @ 99mph bone stock, and my friend's 1993 GSX ran 13.9 at 96mph bone stock with nothing more than a centerforce. Not sure if you count that as stock or not. My car has new spark plugs, a 180 degree thermostat, and the "free mods" such as removed silencer/honeycomb. Obviously, his 13.7 may have been stock but "boosted" after all boost is free, and some people may not consider that a "mod." There is no way it went 13.7 on stock boost though. I've owned/modified/raced several DSM's, and it would at least have to have the boost line pulled to go 13.7.

Sorry, I don't believe it either. On a 1G, low 14s sounds kinda reasonable but 13.7...nah. I once heard about a guy who ran a 13.9 with only hacked aircan...but, he had part of his exhaust break...meaning, he had no exhaust! So, it was pretty much a 13.9 with a REALLY hi-flow exhaust. :D

I assume stock he meant stock boost..Stock should be as it came from the factory..

turbo=good :
Thanks :) I'm happy with them and looks they get..you know whats hilarious is I just realized I had "enkei rims" in my sig lol.. I dont know what I was on when I typed that up.. it is now fixed though :D

<<Frankly speaking 14.3 FWD stock is hardly believable either>>

That was BCS unplugged ("the line pulled"), removed air silencer, NGK plugs, and 180 degree thermostat. I'll mail you my timeslip if you'd like. My fully loaded FWD 1992 Eclipse ran 14.4 at 98mph before that. The 14.3 @ 99mph was my 92 Laser, roll up windows, no power door locks, no cruise. (But full weight i.e. absolutely no lightening) I also had pump gas, spare tire/jack all still in the car.

well my car does have a hack air can and just a downpipe.sorry for all the confusion but i still consider that all stock.if any of u live in texas or houston area heres my cell number plz call me and come see my car if u dont belive me.heres my #291-546-1099

LOL.. what a joke. Your world's fastest trophy is in the mail

<<Non stock boost - is NOT a stock form - it's like saying 16G is stock, because it looks like stock!>>

That's a little eggageration. I think any FREE mods can still loosely be considered stock. (boost, removing air silencer, etc) Obviously a 16g is not stock; beides you put a 16g on a bone stock car and it'll prolly go SLOWER.
If I have a Mustang 5.0 and I advance my timing, does that make my car modified? Are you still running 14's by chance? It's usually the guys with the less modified cars that have a strict sense of what stock is...
(absolutely not bashing you if you run 14's, you hafta start somewhere..it's where we ALL started :) )

Stock is stock. I would consider even free or small mods like advancing base timing from 5 to 10 degrees to be non-stock. Stock should be how the car was when it left the factory. "Stock Appearing" is something different. You could have 16G in the "Stock Appearing" class at the DSM Shootout, as long as you still had the stock factory airbox.

Yes, I do have 14B - no complaints - it took some people in LOW 12s ... (not me tho - didn't have enough track time - only 4 runs 14.4 the best).

Ecoli < Thanks for the support.

That's why I mentioned "stock appearence" in my previous post - if you can change the ignition timing - why not change the boost, removing silencer, loose the exhaust, loose the intake pipe, etc. - you see where I'm going?

As I said STOCK is stock, stock appearence is STOCK APPEARENCE - please don't mix 'em. And, no, I'm not afraid of fire here - I know what I'm talking about :)

J/k about fire - it's all good :) I love you guys!
