Timing Retard and extreme boost spike
I recently retarted by timing to 1 degree BTDC trying to compensate for all the piggy back and larger injector limitations. With this I experienced what I hope to be an anomoly.
I saw boost reach 1.44 bar with the boost controller off and a Tial 40mm external wastegate with a 1 bar spring. I was logging this run and saw no real adverse effects in the form of knock - but I didn't hold it. The boost guage warning light went red and I came off of it.
I haven't had this happen before, typically she'll hit 1.10 and settle to a rock steady 1 bar. Could the timing have something to do with this? I know I saw a post about something similar to this before, but I thought it had more to do with adjustment of the cam sprockets.
Any help much appreciated
