Ok I started my car at work to go home at 8:00 and i let it warm up till 8:05 Then i left. well as i was leaving i noticed that it was real sluggish. as i got on the highway it would not shift at all. well i put it in L and nothing then 2 and nothing and the D then i noticed my O/D was off but no light on cluster so i hit the button and nothing. so i belive since it is sluggish it is stuck in 2 but then on the highway i got to 60 at about 4500-5000. I will be going to trans shop so i can get them to look through the valves for some metal. or somthing and i will also be changing the filter and putting in some mobil 1 ATF. Maybe that will do it because with 190,000 miles on it I do not know when it was done last.

I went out today and when i stuck it in reverse i thought that the tranny was goung to fall out. I also lifted it up to look for any loose wires and nothing and no loose wires up top. I belive i will buy me another Car and have this one as a project car now instead of trying to fix it the drive it than have to fix it the next week.

well i tried that and i get nothing not even the constant short pulses. I started looking at the wires and there is no wire in the 4 the spot so i guess monday i will go to a transmission shop. also i unpluged the plugs from the box behind the radio and also the box under the console by the firewall. I also took the positive and the negative off the battery for 5 hours and that reset nothing. I do not know where the TCU is.

I don't have an automatic, but if I remember correctly the TCU is mounted horizontally in a bracket below the ECU. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's where it is. If you pull the panel that runs next to your right leg you should be able to locate it. Hope that helps.

well my brother works at a jeep dealership that used to work on eagels and they said they would check it out for me and they would pull it out reset it and look inside. to check the caps if it is i will get them fixed but the guy at the dealership said probley just needs to be reset. so I will go there and see what he thinks.

Its either reset or reprogramed

If you just want to reset it you can pull off the negative battery cable for a couple of minutes. But if they are willing to do it see if they can hook up a scanner to your car before they reset it and see if they get any codes. Also after they reset it go for a ride i'm pretty sure the tcu will allow everything to work correctly for 5 minutes before it will go back into limp mode.

the battery did not reset it because i took it out at work a couple days ago it sat in the front floorboard for 5 hours and it didn't do anything. If by scanner you mean the kind of scanner autozone has I have one of these and no codes return. This all leads me to think it is somthing stuck in the valves or a plug that i can't see. Automatics are frustrating
