how come my valve cover says mitsubishi on the top all others i've seen said 16 valve except for the jdm engines it doesnt look like the valve cover has been replaced

I think the Eclipse ones are say Mitsubishi, and the T/L say 16 valve. Could be wrong though.

Maybe your valve cover was replaced with a JDM one. I cracked the one that came with the car and I got a replacement from my mechanic and it has MITSUBISHI on the top part and I think it's fromthe Galant since not all of them were red.

4G63 DSMs have the grey cover with red letters. (90-99) they do not say "mitsubishi" in the upper left hand corner.

4G63 Galant VR4's have the red cover with white letters. these are the ones that have the word "mitsubishi" embossed on the upper left corner. these are commonly called "JDM" covers, but thats not entirely acurate...you can buy a new one at a US dealership since they were an OEM part on the few GVR4's sold in the US. People just call them JDM covers because most of the 4G63t motors imported from Japan are pulled out of Galant VR4's. (Go figure).

the EVO III motors...which you dont see to many of in north america, had a light metalic silver cover. (read that somewhere).

Yes they DO say mitsubishi, but only the eclipse motors had them. (I have a GSX motor and a TSI motor) The T/L say 16v dohc.

Valve Cover Differences

Are there any valve cover differences between the 2g TSI and the 2g NA, or the 1g TSI and the 2g TSI? Will any valve cover from a 90-94 TSI or NA fit a 2g TSI, invisa versa? Hope you guys have some info for me.

The 1G and 2G TURBO valve covers are all the same.
The NT 1.8 1G and all NT 2G valve covers are different from the 1&2G 2.0 turbos.

i hear some of the hyundais got the "mitsubishi" on their motors?
they have the NT 4g63??????? that wont fit my turbo eh?
since mitsubishi supplied every motor and drive train to hyundai until 95 or 96 i'd hope so ;) then hyundai basically copied all of mitsu's desgins and tweaked em and called them beta engines, go figure...

when i bought my talon it had an engine swap done to it, now it says mitsubishi on the valve cover, but the old engine that was included with the car's vavle cover lettering is in grey or silver. the intake manifold also says eci in big letters then multi in smaller or vice versa.

can anyone tell me what kind of motor it is? thanks alot.
