I just bought a 93 mitsubishi awd and my concern is that when i get to about 3k the engine vibrates(quite badly). The previous owner had a timing belt put on about a month before i bought it. Was something put on wrong? This is my 1st 4cyl turbo since owning a taurus sho(kids are older dad has time to play!). And am not sure if this is normal or not. Any suggestions on something i need to check would be greatly appreciated

Hi, does the vibration goes away as the rpm increase past 4k? I used to hear rattle/vibration from the engine compartment between 3k-4k rpm then all quite down beyond that range. I found a piece of broken plastic trim caught between the firewall and the engine.

Well i did some digging in the faq pages and everything i have noticted seems to be pointing to the balance shafts being out 180degrees. So instead of doing mods on saturday looks like i will be woking on timing belt!

You are right.. i am just amazed that a 4cyl with half the amount of money i dumped into mods on my sho can become such a very fast car. I always thought that my sho could blow away that 4cyl turbo! I never would have even considered buying a 4cyl till i decided to finally to test drive one after i read about them on this forum.
