My GSX sounds like a vacuum cleaner as well, but that's due to the rather large boost leak in my intercooler.

Adding the K&N filter to mine and hacking the airbox really did add to the wooshing air rush sound in mine, though.

Yesterday I finally took my intercooler off, and the whole upper pipe was corroded to hell. There were probably 10 or so holes between 1 and 2mm in size and lots of pits. I have a spare intercooler on my busted Talon, but I can't get to it until the weekend at best as it's at a garage a half hour away. I just slathered the whole tube with JB Weld and let it set up overnight. I put it back on today, reconnected everything, and now my car no longer sounds like a vacuum cleaner. The only thing I hear now is the spooling of the turbo.
