and spark at the plug. Engine just had head gasket replaced, spins over easy but will not fire. Having trouble with vacuum line routing as well.

Make sure the engine is mechanically timed correctly. Meaning, set the #1 cylinder to TDC, then make sure the marks on the cam gears line up correctly. If they are, check compression. Usually, bad compression = timing off.
