WRX's are dogs from a roll. Especially above 60MPH. You should see me race him in my WS6. lol

Anyhey, we raced on the highway and I easily pulled away from him. It's a little bit closer if we run from a slower roll but I still pull on him.

I trap 102MPH, he only traps 95MPH. My car is FWD if you haven't figured it out yet.

 

yeah.. wrxs are dogs from a roll. their stock turbo is really small, and sucks for top end. nice race.. im still looking to race one of those

Fury aka Powelsound....good kill, WRX is cool but 4 doors? And The same EXACT backend view as an Echo. I saw a wrx and an echo parked next to each other and I swear to god they looked almost identical but only from the back.

 

Good kill. I don't know what the rod to stroke ratio is on the WRX's but they are very weak on the top end. I think I saw a write up on one in SCC magazine that ran a 13.1 at 99 mph. Thats a pathetic trap speed for that time. Out of the hole and up to 60 though they are nothin' nice.

My boy got a WRX, and my other boy got a laser(fwd) now the WRX has a AEM cold air intake and thats it, the laser has a 16g, hacked aircan, K&N, 3inch downpipe&exhaust, MBCset at i believe 16-18psi, and somehow these cars are dead even when they race... i have the same mods as you(but im a auto ) but when me and the WRX race, from a stop or a roll, he murders me....

this just doesn't add up to me...

The driver has alot to do with it. Also, maybe he misjudged the car lengths. That can happen. Just about anything is possible though.

Then your boy with the Laser needs to learn how to drive. You're an idiot. With all those mods he should in the 12's, or atleast trapping 110MPH or higher. Evidently you don't know anything about drag racing, or the correlation between trap speed and running from a roll. Don't call BS when you obviously have no clue what you're talking about. We both ran a 13.9 with our mods. I trapped 102MPH, he only trapped 95MPH. A 7MPH difference in trap speed is VERY significant. Also, 7MPH difference in trap speed equals me walking his WRX from a roll, hard. I have the timeslip, if you're so hard pressed, I'll scan it. The WRX owner happens to be a good friend of mine. If I get a chance, I'll bust out the video camera, hop on the highway and walk his ass again. It's no big deal and I've done several times. I've said it before and I'll continue to say it, WRX's are dogs, especially from a roll. I have an acqauintance that is stage 25325.24 blah blah whatever.. He's got intake, up-pipe, exhuast, unichip, MBC and a few other mods. He was running consistent 13.1's a month or 2 ago. He may be in the 12's now. However, his trap speed was only 102MPH (pathetic). Guess what, my Talon traps 102MPH. If we ran from a roll, it would probably be a good race. I've raced him in my WS6 (traps 108MPH) and I walked him. Anything else you'd like to add, genius?

I didn't mis-judge the car-lengths. If anything, I underestimated. I posted this in 3si.org the same night just for th hell of it. He know's he got his ass walked, it's not the first time. His only arguement is he say's he didn't have his MBC on, which I know is BS. Either way, 2psi isn't going to save hime. BTW, the shit talkin ng back n forth is me and him just joking around.

I test drove a wrx........took it to the highway and WASNT impressed by this car. I went in with both of my eclipses hoping to do a trade in BUT this incident made me walk away from the dealer. Hopefully when the lancer evo comes to our shores I wont be disapointed.

I just, thats right, just raced a WRX 10 min ago and he was rolling with 4 passengers.... first from a 30mph roll, and a 65mph.... couldn't keep up on either run, so explain this, you have the exact same mods as me, only diff is im a auto, and your telling me that you walk'd a wrx, NO! As for the driver, your boy prolly dont put the peddle to the floor cuz he don't want to humiliate you. Basically, im not talk'n shit, but i smell bullshit. If you can walk a W, lets see it....

You are a fucking idiot. You honestly think a car that only traps 95MPH is competition for a car that traps 102MPH. I can't argue with stupidity, man. I don't know why the concept is so hard for you to accept/understand. If you read the thread on 3si he even admits to losing. He and I raced at the same track and I have the faster ET and MPH. He ran a 13.99 @ 95MPH. I ran a 13.93 (with a terrible 60') @ 102MPH. The only reason our ET's are close is because he can cut a 1.8 60' I'm stuck in the 2.3 range. From a stop it's a very good race. From a roll, I destroy him.

I'll call him up and arrange to get some video. It's no big deal. I've walked him before, and I'll walk him again. In the mean time, please educate yourself before you call BS. You're only making yourself look like a jackass.

Are you stupid, he has a FWD that traps 102 mph you have an AWD so going from a roll benefit you none and you have a slowmatic with a 13g turbo. He also has MORE MODS than you he has a dropped cat meaning he has open flow exhaust straight out the downpipe. Sorry but auto 1g's are the slowest DSM's.

Trust me, a stock WRX isn't much competition up against a 5 speed, FWD, 1G DSM, with a K&N, !cat, and 16psi, from a roll.
