Can I buy this at a store like Home Depot?
What section would I look in? I have no idea where to look.

Im so sick and tired of the 91 octane shit in CA and my car really dosnt like it. I need better gas!

Home Depot does not carry Xylene in any containers larger than a quart. If you have a Lowe's hardware store in your area, they have it by the gallon. Call up a couple local paint stores in your area (Sherwin Williams etc) and see what they charge. Should be less than $9.00 a gal. They also might carry it in 5 gal. containers. Good luck.

Hey A.D. hook us up man, I'm sure we could get enough takers to get a good group buy going. :D hahahaha Whaddya say, 50gal drum for $100? hahaha

I'd love to hook you guys up, but I have no desire to lose my job for some extra octane. We had a guy get canned not too long ago for stealing laptops and flourescent lightbulbs out of the front offices. Besides how the hell am I going to get out the door with jugs full of Xylene?!

Me: "No really, it's just water! Would you like a sip?" LOL

Fuel tank is 16 gallons, so a 2 to 1 mixture would mean around 10.5 gallons of fuel to 5.5 gallons of xylene.

Nope, xylene/toulene is an ingredient in fuel already.
Its also a good fuel system cleaner, and it doesnt harm the o2 sensors.

Sounds sweet, I have been reading up about race fuels recently and how they are made and work and the whole physics about them. So this wouldn't harm any part of the engine whatsoever? I would think that there is only a certain amount in the gas already for a reason, whether it's cost I don't know, but this idea doesn't sound too bad especially since my local area doesn't really have much in the line of race gas anywhere. Exactly what kind of octane would I be expecting with a 30% mix, and a 50% mix? And does anyone have any different figures/comments about the differences both in performance and harmful results of Toulene and Xylene?

okay I just read that article on "race gas" posted here, answered alot of the questions I just asked, sounds sweet, anyone know where I can find say 5 gallons the cheapest? I wanna experiment with it a little. Say at the track mix 4 gals regular 93 and the 2 of toluene, for a 100oct rating and drive a few miles to the track, and see how my runs compare. Could I turn up the boost slightly with this high of octane? Just curious, doubt I will do it since I don't have a datalogger just yet. I already run 18psi on stock 450's so I'm pretty much pushing their limit but I'm still curious to know since higher octane would help with preignition.

We have Xylene in 50 gallon drums in the factory where I work! ;)
the fab i support gets it in by tanker truck every few weeks. some great stuff the only problem is finding it in gallon+ containers cheaply. i've only found it localy in 1 gallon containers and with my special discount it is still $8.20 a gallon.

if only i could find someplace locally that sells it in 5 gallon containers.

btw 2:1 ratio gasoline to xylene/toulene is the most you'd want to run for the most benefit. done many times car feels better.

if you want to get the most bennefit you'd probably want to run toulene, it may have a lower octane than xylene by 1-2, but from what i've read it burns better and resists detonation better. since the r+m in the octane equation(r+m/2) are very close. like (105+125)/2.

btw the older turbo F1 cars used to run 85% toulene for fuel.

So you think 4 gal of 93 to 2 gal of toulene should be suffice? Also does your car feel like it's got more power or does it just feel more responsive when your using the toulene or xylene? Later man!

I just got a gallon of xylene, was gonna wait till i get low on gas and mix it, probably be 20 something % maybe 30, i was wondering if it would make much of a diff on my car, stil stock turbo etc, just a few mods.

I found that two gallons of Xylene in a tank help alot! My car will now boost constantly at 14psi instead of going down to about 9 Psi most of the time... You can feel a majpr difference inm timing and its great!!! Try this stuff out.

my engine runs a lot smother, on 93 octane its a little rough below 900rpms , but with the toulene/xylene in i notice a lot more blow by, mostly since i'll shift @ 6500 when ussually i won't go past 5K(pretty poitnless on a t25)

Agreed!! I put 1 gal of toluene in with about 4 to 5gal of 93 octane and it felt great. It ran almost like it does when it is about 40 to 50 degrees outside, and it was around 80 outside at the time. I will probably run this stuff all the time now since I only break the gs-t out on weekends. I Highly recommended this stuff. It is also a cheaper alternative to race gas. Later fellas!!!
