Love those wheels! my lava blanket sheds so bad that I took it off though, it left constant fiberglass dust under the hood on everything.
Thanks, I can't wait to see them on the car. When I wrapped my downpipe it did the same thing at first. It was terrible but then it went away. We'll see how this goes.

Got back a couple more things from the powdercoater the other day. I sent him my valve cover and front and rear brakes to have them done. Breakdown and rebuild was pretty straight forward and they came out great.

Valve cover...

Calipers all done...

Reassembled...

I haven't had much time to work on the car but I did manage to get the E85 sensor and wiring done and was dying to see the caliper on the car so I threw it on quickly.

Old look vs. new...

I scored a great deal on some LSD rear axles a while back so I decided to dig into the rear end and subframe and just have it.

Went ahead and removed everything. It wasn't too bad. Just dealing with the rusty bolts was the worst part...

Things weren't too bad while I was in there but the back of this car has never been touched in 20 years and my OCD just told me to go ahead and replace everything - so I did. This included new rear hubs, lower control arms, upper control arms, trailing arms, toe arms, e-brake cables, e-brake shoes and all new OEM hardware. While I was in there I decided on upgrading some things as well. This included getting the LSD rear end rebuilt(with shot-peening), polyeurethane subframe mounts, solid rear rear diff mounts and Boston Hatcher rear diff mounts as well.

I decided to install the rear diff, axles, lower arms and toe arms into the subframe and install it that way. The upper control arms, hubs, brakes, etc will be installed after.

I use valspar signature too, decent paint. However they swear you only need one coat and its bullshit. still takes 3 but looks just as good as 2 coats of primer and 2-3 of a standard paint on top of it.

Edit: how badly do you want to shove an aluminum driveshaft in that thing right now? wink wink.

I've thought about it but I already went much further than I intended this winter. It may be on my list for next winter however.

Rad to see you still have this car, Nick! Was it at the Shootout over the weekend? Im not sure if the one I saw was yours, my memory is fuzzy and its been a few years. lol

You live in PA and youve never been to The Shootout? That doesnt even make sense for how long youve been a DSM'er. Ive made the trip to Norwalk 4 times now (and only blew up my motor once, haha) you have to go!
