which turbo should i use? i was thinking the mitsubishi 16g...

also what other mods would i need to run a safe low 13sec 1/4

can i do it on the stock computer? do dsms have fuel cut?

any input/advice would be appreciated

also my budget is somewhat small...initially i will have 2k to start with so what mods should come first

also what brands do you guys reccomend? ive messed hondas and mazdas an vws but am new to dsm so please help me out guys

plus anyone know of a good dsm shop in the tampa/bradenton/sarasota area?

13's on a 1g awd is so very very easy, u can hit 13's with a stock 14b turbo easy. fuel cut can be fixed by removing a honeycomb from the MAS. exhaust, intake, fuel system, afc hello 13's..

well the turbo on the car im looking at buying is bad and needs to be replaced thats why i was looking at low cost mitsubishi alternatives...i want a smaller turbo that will spool faster as long as it makes decent top end..i dont really want a 10sec monster or anything just a daily driver reliable v8 eater

ported unclipped small 16g is good for mid 12's def good for 13's. bein unclipped the turbo will spool faster. big16 is more top end and spools slower...

ok weve established the fact that 13's are easy...but help out with turbo selection.....im thinking small 16g

how much boost stock? and how much can i run under everyday driving conditions safely?

does DSS make good stuff? they seem reasonably priced

also what bov sound goods..meaning which one is the loudest

your starting to sound like an integra owner, joke ;)

you prolly know this, but 1g dsm's come with a 14b turbo, which is a pretty good stock turbo, which under the right circumstances can easily put a car in the 12s...

This is a good site it has a little diagram where you can see how much boost you can run under what condition...

I would stay at 15psi until I got an upgraded fuel pump...

the loudest blow off valve is the rfl, but since its vented to atmosphere you may have a problem with stalling/etc without sufficient tuning to go with it... HOWEVER i stress that the stock 1g bov is good for 20psi........

I say that when your building, cover all angles. So go with the unclipped/ported small 16G (lots of fun & plenty of power). Replace the exhaust manifold (EVO or 2G ported). Replace the O2 housing, or get an O2 eliminator with a down pipe & cat back. Even at top dollar that shouldn't put you over the $2000 budget that you have right now. These exhaust mods with a boost guage, free airbox & mass mods, and a manual boost controller, should have you walking away from Mustangs and Z28s and easily in the 13s.

The stock boost is 11psi. a small 16g ported, and unclipped is what you want to get most likely. Get a boost controller and a boost gauge while you're at it. If you do the fuel pump rewire, then 15psi with the small 16g should be a good pressure for everyday, and doing the free mods to the intake will help too. Eventually you'll want to get a new exhaust manifold and o2 housing, and exhaust. And about DSM JDM parts... DSMs were made in the US. But, you can get evo exhaust manifolds and o2 housings at various places. Just do some research at www.dsm.org for stores.
