well this seems to be a relatively undiscussed and unexplained theory and to be honest i just don't get it.
i've got a 90 galant gs-x (awd n/t) that i am converting to turbo. i've got everything else sorted out but the trickiest part is that i can't decide what to do about the wiring. here's the facts:
the ggsx wiring harness needs to be wired to the ecu for the knock sensor, and the 7th pin on the maf plug.
the ggsx runs high impedance or "saturated" injectors. turbo dsm runs low impedance or "peak and hold" injectors. this solution can be resolved simply by me ordering 650s in either variation depending on which wiring harness i go with.
the car is a 90, the jdm cyclone engine i have and everything is a 90, and i can get a 90 fwd turbo complete engine wiring harness for free which once swapped, would make things plug and play (i already have a 90 turbo awd 5-speed ecu to run).
theoretically the wiring harnesses should be the same since the same stuff connects up that for both. but why is it that people seem to think since a fwd ecu in an awd or vice versa "isn't correct" but an engine wiring harness would be? looking on vfaq at the ecu part numbers it shows for the galant gsx is the same for a/t or m/t. only difference is the ca ones which even those are same to eachother. so that throws the perspective of things a little more out of wack even. the galant ecu is on the passenger side kick panel and it doesn't appear to be nearly as much of a pain to swap wiring harnesses as a regular 1g. so if there isn't any difference i might just do that.
