What brands of CDRs have you tried?

Though I don't have a cd player in my dsm, I have a really old sony CD player system that won't take certain brands of CDRs but others will work fine... I don't know if this is the case with 1g dsm cd players but I've heard some people getting inconsistant results - some work with cdr's, some don't...

Hope the new cd players don't have that newfangled copy protection stuff in it...

Also make sure you burned the CDR single session, TAO (I think)... Been a while since I've burned any audio CD's, so inefficent in storage :D

I've had good luck with blue Verbatim Datalifes and (temporarily) pure older Taiyo Yuden Gold/Green on older CD players. I haven't burned an audio cd in eons, because all I've been burning are mp3 cds. I don't have a cd player in the car, but that line-in input is sweet!

Need mod my other cars with one too...

I've had bad luck with ritek CD's. Not only they crackle in my old cd player, they tend to fade and become unreadable...

The old green/gold taiyo yudens, while work great at first, tend to fade and become unreadable early...

Buy samples from many cdr companies and brands, and try them out...

Memorex used to use Ritek but now switched to different brands. Maxell used to have QC problems...

Right now I'm using Sony and the noname Comp-USA (Princo) CDRs...
The Princos are pretty cheap (qualitywise) but hold up to the 8x burns at least...
