1gen swap...worth it??

I ahve a 95 TSI AWD. I have been thinking about a 1gen swap. I have an engine in my car thats only got ~15000 miles on it because the crank walked on the previous owner. I have a friend who is going to do a 1gen bigrod swap with 2gen pistons in about a month and I was contemplating following his path. IS IT WORTH IT? I have the funding and plans to make my car very powerful but I dont wanna drop a TON of money in my car just to have it crankwalk. Basically I want to know if you believe that much smaller chance of crankwalking and bigger rods would be worth the time and money to do this. I plan on roadracing this car as well :)
Please give me ANY input.

I would say only if you are willing to drop the cash and care for your car enough. Have a backup car.

My experience went as.. and we gave up.
My brother had a 95 gst with 20G, webcams, 1G head swap/tb/intake manifold, car had about everything then motor crankwalked, with all those mods, didn't want to lose all this money so bought brand new short block, it spun a rod bearing, crank is dead too, dealer wouldn't warrenty it, even though we didn't build the short block (out 1400 for block)
(what it looked like)

After all said, car was fucked 300 miles on new motor, dead, car total had 71,000 on it. So we said screw the 95 and bought a 93 awd and swapped as much over as we could sold rest that didn't match up to a 93

now 95 has been crushed into a cube, hood, fenders wheels, bodypanels all in my back yard for sale, I am sitting on the 95 drivers seat at my computer I turned it into something usefull. 93 just rolled 118,000 and still no problems hasn't broken, and replaced everything we could that was the weak link (just slapped in 4 cog center diff)

Could always buy twingles.com car if you want a roadracing car its a 95 gsx with 1G 6-bolt forged components and 1G wiring harness with 1G ecu. Its the car in the http://www.dsm.org banner. He is in dsm IRC all the time.

Myself am very bitter about 2Gs, worked on the 95 for 9 months between college and job.

6-bolt involves fabing motor mounts, machining front cover, machining the block (oil passages other shit), also tapping drilling holes for parts that are on 7-bolt but not 6

7-bolt 1G goes is almost complete drop in

Sorry guys let me rephrase this :)
Is a 1gen 6 bolt motor worth the time and money to put it in my 95??
My engine is already fine but I dont want to spend a TON of money just to have it crankwalk. Do you believe that the 6 bolt engine swap is worth the time and money for its benefits???
Please Reply. You peoples opinions will GREATLY affect my end decision. Thanks :)

I would recommend just go ahead and mod your car. If you ever get CW you can always do the swap.

The swap is not a straight forward one. It cost alot if you are not doing your own work.

You can build up a 6 bolt in your spare time. Just make sure to save up some backup funds to prepare for this.

Of course if you really like you can put in a 6 bolt now as a preventive measure, the only real benefit here is the bigger 6 bolt "big rods" which are safer when you get to the 350-400 HP range.

What I mean is I would not spend any money to mod the 2G engine internals .
