So my friend just bought a stock 2009 cobalt ss (260 hp stock) and I currently am running a 1995 eagle talon TSI 6 bolt on 20 psi with a huge FMIC, evo 3 turbo (to be done this week), lighter flywheel, intake, and exhaust. What do you think is this a race worth putting some money down on or should I show caution?

You will get beat by 50 bus lengths, from a dig.

If you don't think that is correct, then get out there and actually TRY IT. Bench Racing FTL.

Go down to Harry's and get a big bottle of nawwwz. Actually better make it two. Just don't blow the welds off your intake manifold.

It all comes down to the driver

If you're confident with your driving then put money down.. But from the looks and purpose of this post, it doesnt seem like you are very confident..

13.9? Can you beat it? Can you drive? Can you tune? It's a coin toss. Don't put money against your friends. You'd be stupid to do so.

Just run a few times for fun. This isn't the time to be really putting down money on race since you don't know what you run. Patience grasshoppa.

Careful with your capitalization. Check rule #7 on the link in my sig for a brush up or the mods just might pay you a visit.

I heard from someone that the new cobalt ss's run like 14's, and with the work your putting into your DSM, I'd expect a good ol' atleast low 13 to very high 12 pass with a good launch.
But try upgrading your fuel pump(dont suppose you have upgraded from the description you just gave us). It'll add a bit of power and decent fuel delivery for the bigger turbo, but you might not need one though! Not a very bad simple easy mod to do.
With that said, I say put the money where your DSM is!
