Needles dimmed.

Gauge face dimmed.

At first i'd flip between which thing I'd have lit all the time, but now, If anything I dim the face like 50% and leave the needles full blast. It makes it seem as if the needles are lighting up the entire face. I couldn't get a good picture of it like that but. Maybe sometime this week if it warms up a bit. :p Enjoy!

Thanks alot everyone. Honestly I didn't think people were going to like it nearly as much as I do. Which I wouldn't have really cared about because I like it but, it is nice that everyone so far dig's it. :D Once the weather gets warm and I get a chance to wash/wax the car I'll post some pictures of that too. I think y'all will like it.

They look really good.

I have considered doing one from Speedhut but when I researched, one member stated that the MPH is off by a little. So I dropped the idea. What you could do to test if it is correct is put on a datalogger and log MPH than drive the car and compare what the logger says with what your dials read. If you have a logger and want to do this, post it cause I only read one person complain about the inacurracy.

Sure thing. Might I suggest picking up an extra cluster from either here, the trader, eBay, a junk yard because you going to need to spend a pretty decent amount of time running wires for the needles, if you choose to do so. Also its just good to have an extra in case you wanna switch back to stock. I wired mine in such a fashion as to where going back to stock is going to be a pain in the ass. After each little installment, I'll make a comment of some sort relating to the installation process/pros and cons.

Gauge faces.

http://www.speedhut.com/custom_gauge_dial_description-auto-Mitsubishi-auto_number-53.htm

Step 1. Dial color - Reverse El glow - Jet black W/ Red font.
Step 2. Font style - Eurostyle.
Step 3. Shift line - Red
Step 4. Add logo's/Text. Location 1. Add custom text. [Whatever you want here, I opted for Eclipse GSX] Location 2. Mitsubishi Emblem.
Step 5. Inverter, this is your call. I opted for the upgraded inverter.

Install: Simple. Slide the faces over the stockers [I would suggest 3M double sided tape just to hold the face away from the needles, Thats what I did] , run the wires, Plug it in and go.
NOTE: If you do decide to do the NEEDLES too. Take care of them FIRST. They are kinda a one shot deal with VERY little wires. More on that next. but if you are going to do the needles PLEASE make sure you do them before this. other wise your going to kick yourself.

Needles.

This is a pain in the ass. The wires are sooo small it feels as if they might break. but mine haven't and I've had this set up for a while now. What your going to want to do is take the needles off your [hopefully spare] cluster and take an exacto blade and scrape the red paint off the back of the needle. take you time and be CAREFUL any nic's too deep and you will see them. After you get the paint off, LIGHTLY sand away the back a little more just to smooth it over. Then grab a red sharpie marker and color the back and both sides of the needles. This just makes it that much more red. I don't know how the blue or green or whatever other colors would do with a matching sharpie they might be too dark. Oh well. So now set the needles aside and move to your cluster. Now very carefully place the led ring in the center around the pin the needles sit on. Run your wires how you please, and just be careful. =NOTE: Now'd be the time to install your faces if you have new ones.=
==BIGGER NOTE: You are going to have to calibrate your needles now. So what I did is let the car warm up to full operating temp. and made a note where ALL the needles sit at idle. [mind you I made the note about the needles on my other cluster.] You can install the boost needle, water temp, oil Press and RPM Right then. The speedometer is a bit tricky but All I did was hopped on the high way with a friend next to me, hit cruise control and had her pull right next to me and tell me exactly how fast she was going and carefully placed the needle on the correct MPH. Yeah I know its not perfect but I'm with in 2-4 MPH According to those speed readers. So Thats not too big a deal for me. Umm the gas needle is a bitch. Mine still isn't right My only suggestion is to run your gas down till the light comes on before you do this and then again, CAREFULLY install the needle. When my needle is at 3/4 my light is on and Im empty. I should fix it but its only the gas needle, I only worry when the light comes on anyway. :D

As for the bezel. Go on eBay and look. They pop up here and there and they go QUICK.

If you have any more questions, PM me.

Also.

If you do decide to do this, the needles, the faces. Ect. and are not comfortable installing such items. If you pay for the shipping and all the mentioned materials. -gauge faces/needles- I'd glady put it together for ya.
Also, if you do in fact go out and do this I want to say 3 things. 1. I am not affiliated with any of the aforementioned shops just a happy customer. 2. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO CLUSTERS I DON'T TOUCH. and 3. Aww you wanna have a sweet cluster like me. Isn't that cute :D

Anything at all, Post here or PM me.
Ta-da.

Like I said they aren't THAT far off. Maybe a few MPH. And By all means thats a great idea with the logger/Link. If I had either at the time I would have done it exactly as you suggested. But I did not. And as I said mine might be off a few MPH. :D

And thanks again everyone here have some of these :tree: :tree: :tree: :D

If I'm understanding you correctly, the face's them self are going to light up off of whatever it is that is lighting them [El glow?] and the needles are going to be lit up by the stock lighting system. Can you possibly re-word that if I'm not answering your question.
