3rd gear has hardly any acceleration.

I have a 95' GS. 1st and 2nd gear work fine, but once it's in 3rd it's like I lose all power. It will still accelerate, just extremely slow, and whether I have the petal to the floor or just barley having it in an inch doesn't make a difference. It almost seems like it wants to die because its accelerating so slow...

The timing just got done, new plugs, wires, crank and cam sensor. So I'm pretty sure none of those are the problem.

Have you checked the fuel pressure? Since your car has the 420a in it, you should be able to check the pressure at the fuel rail. There should be a check valve that almost looks like a tire inflation valve. I remember that on my 95 GS. It could be your fuel pump going out on you. That, or your fuel filter is clogged. Just a thought.

Ok so I found out that the problem is I've been shifting it into 5th, not 3rd. For some odd reason shifting straight up on my cars, putting it into 5th. To get it into 3rd I actually have to shift up and to the left a bit, almost back at first....Any ideas why this is??? Thanks everyone.

Inspect your shifter cables and make sure the ends are not broken. Then check your shift levers on the transmission and see if they look bent or not. Check your shifter itself and make sure it looks in order; bolted down right, bushings, bump stops. After those three things,if everything checks out, then try adjusting the cables.
