That there might be a problem with a component of the Anti-Lock system. Check the ABS sensors on the front wheels, make sure that the connectors are making a solid connection on the sensors and that there isn't broken wire around the area.

It means they're not functioning properly. Mine is stuck on, too. Any suggestions out there? I think I'll try doing a search as well.

the ABS light

The ABS dash illumiinates under the following conditions:

1) when starting up (along with the other dash lamps) this is a normal lamp test.

2) When the ECU is running in diagonistic mode. Most often when something is plugged into the connector adjacent to the fuse box. TMO, or dataloggers, etc.

3) When the ABS computer detects a defect in one or more sensors and the ABS is offline.

4) When non-ABS rotors are installed that do not accomdate the stock sensors.

I've seen the ABS sensor line connectors get dirty and corroded and cause this. Especially the connectors near the rear wheels.

Mark

possibly your pump is out. It is may not be working properly.

do you mean master brake cylinder? I highly doubt this because if so he would have no pedal pressure or intermidant loss of it. the abs is just a system that makes the pressure pulsate to where the pads tighten and relax and tighten...etc to prevent the brakes from locking up the wheel... or so ive been advised..
anyone feel free to correct my reasoning on this

okay well the other day i had to slam on the brakes in the rain and the ABS worked so im guessing its a prob with the sensors.

I have the same prob with my 95 GSX it happend about 2 weeks ago.... I have inspected the front brake sytem and electrical connections this weekend I am gooing to inspect the rear. When the light is off the ABS works soon as it comes on, no more ABS. Lets just hope its not expensive Ill keep you posted with what I find. "This will drive me insane so its gona get fixed" :)
