im running 18 pounds of boost with a open downpipe safc2 and a 16g evo 3 turbo.

Good kill, an exh headers cam LS1 depending on cam/gears can get into the 11's on good tires but on the street your big 16/FMIC should be able to handle that if your at 25~psi.

EDIT...I see your mods. Boy 18 psi ain't shit...he couldn't have had much if any cam in the SS.

I believe it! I ran an older vette at 18psi on a t-25 with similar mods, he had exhaust and thats about it I would think... He had his track numbers on the car and said he ran a 13.3. Keep in mind this is a 40-110 roll, but it was the closest race I've ever had! Neither of us could pull through second or third. Wish I had my evo3 and front mount

Yup, I can sip coffee and run down the track with the A/C on if I want to with my stock 01 SS and click off easy consistent 13.1's all day. The 2001-02 were the strongest.

 

Sounds like you got the best of the driver. I don't think he was modded like he said unless the big cam install was something along the lines of a Z06 cam or so. Its been a long while since I had a DSM, and the turbos have changed quite a bit, so can you tell me what kind of power you are putting down?

If you would have raced above and beyond 80mph he would have caught up and waxed you if he had the mods he said he did. Even stock those things are mean as hell in the topend.

 

They make very mild cams for the SS just like the mustangs and the B cam. Its possible. I pulled very hard on an SS with a lid, exhaust, cam, and a chip and rearend from 40-100. But then again, Im running a 60-1 at 20psi.

my buddy has a 2000 gt with 373's intake, tune and drag radials and he is only running 13.8's

Actually if he isn't awd he has a bigger chance from a roll, so that doesn't make sense to me why you would say that. Also, that doesn't make the SS an 11 second car, because you have too many vague variables and using illogical thoughts by saying all SS's will run 11's with such and such done. Do all DSM's run the same with the same mods? I didn't think so, also the EvoIII is a hell of a turbo, I bet this could happen, I'm not saying either way especially since I drive many different cars, but you guys generalize too much with mods saying all cars run 11's with these mods.
