I was changing my fuel filter the other day on my 2G, when I noticed a canister underneath the battery.
I assume this is fuel/emissions related etc. Charcoal canister?
Anyways, the part of it that is closest to the engine/fuel filter, is a little pipe with 3 vacuum lines coming off of it.
Anyways, it sticks out of the canister and it looked broken????
So I picked it up, and out dropped this little spring, and a small cover plate. It was very dusty in the pipe and where it connected was dusty as well, so I assume it had been broken for sometime.
It doesnt really connect back to the canister, it wasn't "broken" but it more or less looked like the pipe should just slide back in to the canister but it wouldnt stay. Not to mention I had to re-oriente the spring and plate inside the pipe. Argh.
Anyways, I glued it back into place, and manage to get the spring and plate back into the pipe.
What is this thing?
