My pocketlogger gave me the engine code P0300. I looked it up on the net and one site says it is Misfire in Multipile cylinders!! I dunno WTF... I only get CE light when I am de-celerating at around 1500rpm. My EGT's are ok, timing is fine, o2s are good. I do have cams, they are a tad lumpy but I have it tuned pretty good with my pocket logger. Anyone tell me simple fix? Or do I not have to correct code description. I believe i do... I also just changed my plugs and plug wires like 2 months ago, they should be gapped ok. anyone else ever get this?!?! Please help

ew ew one more thing! The plug wires i switched to are magnecor. Now I hear everyone using them...BUT...arent they low resistance wires? The factory manual calls for 22k wires, and I beleive magnecores are way down to like 4k resistance or something... could this affect random engine misfires????

I would like to differ from that web cam theory, correct me if im wrong, im not trying to be a smart *ss, i have the same code p0300 which is the multiple misfiring code, i don't have cams, all i have is simple mods like uip, air filter, cat back, without cat. I have changed the spark plugs and the wires, now i have the bpr6 and accel 805mm wires. Still i get the same things and my spark plugs are currently burned, they are balck and im running really rich. So they other alternative that they have told me is the coil pack.

95 manual calls it "random misfire detected"

The big question is, how does the ECU detect it? If you're getting the code but don't feel mis-fires, then something else must be up, knowing how it detects it would at least point you in the right direction.

Well, i think i do feel the misfire, what do you think, sometimes im riding at about normal speed ad the car at around 3k rpms and if i floor is it just bogs, it builds boost and everything but the car barely moves, then other times the same situation but the car pulls good. So sometimes the car like chokes or it gets clogged, that's what it feels like. and i know im wasting lots of gas. Now i dont' want to go and replace my wires and or sparkplugs and so i could jsut mess them up again . I have replaced all of the above and they always end up the same, so i beelive it has to be something else, i don't want to think about the coil pack, but is an alternative.

did either of you guys ever figure out what was up with your cars? I have been having the same problem only that mine was alway cylinder 1 misfire until tonight i got the random/multiple misfire. i have also changed my plugs and wires AND it still keeps happening.
Nope. I start my car, wait 20 sec for the light to come on, erase the code, and I'm off. It never comes back on until i shut the car off, and it is off for more than 3 min. I don't feel any misfires either, and everything seems to work well.

FWIW the code is sometimes P0300, multiple misfires, or P0301 which is cylinder 1. I got P0302, which is cylinder 2, once. Same code, different cylinder. Doesn't mean anything. I just clear it and continue on.

Don't mean to bring up an old thread but I recently installed cams and started to get the p0300 code today (2 days after cam install). Anyways, i was just wondering if that was the case or what did you guys that had the problem figure out? Thanks.
