That about sums it up. It's not my 91, but a 95 for a guy I know. He had the clutch replaced and has checked the fluid. Most of the time it is fine, but occasionally stays on floor. When pulled on it spring back to its correct position.

Any ideas what this might be?

I had this happen to me on my 1999 GST. It wasnt crankwalk. I know that is a sign of crankwalk, but what it ended up being was the MAster Cylinder.I replaced it and have not had any problems since.

How does it feel when he turns left? Any eery noises? Does the clutch pedal fall (like someone else mentioned above)?

Good luck. Hope its the MC for your friends sake.

It could be lots of things. I thought it was a leaking resevoir unit. I replaced that and bled the system and all was well for about a month.

I would say if you see this happen, hopefully its something else like a bad MC or leak in the line but get the crank checked anyways while you are doing the work or while a mechanic is. It doesn't hurt and catching it early gives you a hell of a lot more options than finding out when your crank angle sensor gets shredded.

Just my .02 dollars.
