yesterday i skipped school to sleep...then got a phone call with my friend test driving a cobalt ss (NON SUPERCHARGED)...well we went down the road..with my car..not insured..and me not having my license...well we went from a dead stop... and i didnt go from ANY RPMS so i creeped first gear...and he pulled on me by 3 cars then i started reeling him in..then we both let off..i think if my battery was fully charged instead of 20% charged..and i went from some rpms or a 10mph roll i woulda ate him...by 2-3 car lengths

This is why insurance rates are stupidly high any more.
Wanna try that sentence again? That makes NO sense, but I get what you mean. And I agree fully. Going out racing with no insurance or even a D.L.? You do know you could be sitting in jail for that right now with your car sitting at an impound lot waiting to be auctioned off or crushed, right? It's one thing to take a calculated risk to street race (I do it), but with no legal right to even sit behind the wheel of a car? That's just stupid. All just to race a pile of crap Cobalt that never even had a chance? Double stupid, and NOT worth the amount of risk you took to do it.

Wait till you get caught... it's not worth it.

[rant]Reckless behaviour is usually not condoned by most guys on this forum, and I have to agree with 'em. If I got hit by someone without insurance, and it did enough damage (like a write-off) or hurt me, I'd be taking everything... your house, your car, anything and everything.[/rantoff]

Besides, Cobalts aren't all that. I raced a supercharged one in a 35th anniversary 350Z yesterday (I got bored during my FMIC install, and went to dealerships looking :)) and just raped him good and square. Those Zs rip. :D I think the V6 guys might be on to something with all that instant torque.

Nothing that I'm really too proud of but I've driven for almost 3 months without a license because I didn't have any other means to go to work. They didn't even give me a restricted. Around 50 miles round trip daily.

I did get into short races on the highway with other drivers leaving work but that was pretty stupid and I regret it.

I had gotten pulled over by a state trooper because my license plate wasn't on the front of my car but in the window. It was the 1st of August that it happend but my restriction ended on the 10th.

I tottally lied to him saying that I had made a mistake and thought it was the 1st that I was release off of my restriction. He said it was cool but wrote me the ticket anyways saying for me to just show my license to the judge and he'll just let it go. He even let me drive off. I was so lucky that I didn't get arrested right then and there.

I've had so many run in's with the law. I'm trying to keep my license for a while now. I'm gonna buy that valentine 1 radar detector soon.

the 4 door model has the 2.4L engine with 170hp

Wrong the LS (4 door) Cobalt has 145hp/155tq

The auto went 16.6@84mph in car and driver.

Let me get this straight, you got smoked by a 145hp 16 second car in your 210hp 15 flat-high 14 second GST ? Are you auto?

Someone needs some serious driving lessons.

Cobalt LS

If it was a 2-door with SS badging, then it was supercharged.

A friend of mine who's also on here lost his license and got pulled over driving around. He did an overnighter in the county jail and now has a husband.

If hes gay yeah, when you spend the night they usually put you in a classifaction pod, most of the guys in there haven't payed child support...nothing too serious.

Dont ask me how I know.

Don't drive without a license, take it from me.

it makes 170hp.

No sorry, you are wrong. It was never in the Z24 or the Sunfire GT. Those used a 2.4L DOHC yes but it was an LD9 engine. The 2.4 in the n/a SS is a 2.4 Ecotec with VVT. Its fresh out of the box from chevy. Suppose to hange pretty decent with the S/C model. Lot more potential since its N/A.

I didn't know they were going to release a 4-door SS. There had been talk about it but I thought chevy canned that and only went with a 2 door SS. One being the 2.0 Ecotec S/C thats in the Ion Redline and the other is the 2.4 DOHC with VVT. The 4-door LS's use a 2.2 Ecotec which was out of the 02 and a half to 05 Model cavalier/sunfires.

Say what you want about the cavalier or the sunfire but they are 100x more reliable then a DSM will ever be. Slower....yes but way more reliable and cheaper when they do break.
