Correct, with Link you can't really go too big.

I've read of people having idle issues with 1600's, but I have no personal experience with this.
I have ran both Precision and Ford/Bosch 1600cc injectors with DSMlink.
For a street car there is some loss in drivability. for lack of a better way to describe things, the low end is lumpy and they don't respond quite right to small or part throttle changes.
For a race car, or one set-up for E85, I don't see any issues.

Pulling back my old thread...so I'm about to go through with this...have my eprom ecu, have the money for link and one other thing...either injectors or a wideband. I already have 680's, and I have an EGT gauge...I'm thinking I should go with the wideband first, but not sure...how much more vital is it, as in it can it wait a week when I have the money for it?? I want to buy the injectors (PTE 1000cc) from someone, and don't want them to get picked up, so I might just pick those up, and get everything put in the car (Or just wait until I get the wideband) and try to deal with it until I can get all my graduation money sorted out. And on the 3.5/5 Bar Map sensor...how much easier is everything with that... Also, on their website, it seems like they are on vacation or something for a while, until the 24th, I was gonna ask them if someone like me (newb) would have any use of the new features coming out. Thanks...

You can sell the egt gauge to have some more money for the wideband and injectors. A wideband is not needed. But, it make it easier to tune and will be safer. Without a wideband you will be guessing the air/fuel ratio by looking at the front o2 volts. A map sensor makes tuning much easier. What kind of turbo do you have?

The wideband is important. I would ditch the EGT, since gas temps are influenced by many variables like ignition timing.

The MAP sensor is not necessary for tuning, but it is helpful for viewing in the logs. You have everything you need already. As for injectors, I would just grab the 1150cc FIC injectors and just be done with it. 1150's are big enough for 99% of DSM setups out there, unless you are going to use E-85.

Also don't pay for hours of dyno tuning. Just tune it yourself on the street and post logs on the Link forums. You can just look up anything on my site for any additional questions.

Exactly what Jeff said....

I really like the Innovate LC-1. Wire it into the rear O2 circuit and log it under "TEWBLIN" in 'link. You can find them all over for $200 and they work great.

Eh, no big plans for me, I'm getting 1000cc's from vaboys2ndgen, and a Uego, and Link here within the next week or so. I'll have a few things up for sale then, and make a bit of money back hopefully.

And I never really cleared this up...just so I don't look like a complete idiot...when I said link would cost about $1000, I said the set-up, not just link. I meant Link ($545), Laptop(?), bigger injectors($325), an eprom ECU (225).

$545 + $325 + $225 = $1095, and that's without the laptop so far. I'm also getting a Uego, which I pretty much needed anyway, but still.

You can't add the injectors in the DSMlink costs.

Are you saying that if you went AEM, that you wouldn't need larger injectors?

Lol, ok, well -325 for the injectors, add about a 100 for a laptop, and it's still pretty close to a thousand bucks, especially with the wideband ($225 New off Fleabay), which could probably be considered with the set-up.

Edit: What about AEM??? You kinda lost me there...I haven't even considered AEM, not only because it's a bit more pricey, but because I not only don't need anything that serious, but I really would rather have something user friendly, I'm still a newb.

Just wondering if you have a AFPR...?

I think he's just making a reference to AEM to elaborate on the idea that no matter what EMS you should choose (Link, AEM, Mega Squirt, ect.) you would need larger injectors, so it's kinda pointless to add them into the "Cost of the Link" when you could just as well run stock injs.

Compusa. You want a Keyspan adapter.
