I have the Blitz Super Sound and am pretty happy with it. Holds boost nicely (like any of the aftermarket/1G bovs). The car drives really well, a little bucking at part-throttle, but it's hardly noticeable or I've just got used to it. LOUD as hell though... scares pedestrians right off of the sidewalk. I had a guy the other night dive behind his wife for cover. My friends and I just died laughing :)

I don't know if you have replaced the stock intake, but just venting back into the Injen intake (with stock 2G CBV) was pretty loud already.

Good luck mate.

HeHe! DAMN, thats why I want to vent to the atmosphere so bad, I love the sound and the reactions from people are priceless.

Ah well, iam not risking anything till I get a VPC one day.....yea..one day...

But ... whats the word on the Dejon hard intake pipes, Iam seein the 3" for $140 compared to the Injens $180. Whats the big difference with them...why such a price change? Is it even worth getting 3", my UIP will be 2 1/4 inches, so shouldnt the elbow into the intake be 2 1/4 also, or at the highest, 2 1/2 ?

Right now Iam lookin at a combo of:

Dejon UIP w/ greddy flange:
(UICP-2g-2.2A) - $99.95
(UICP-2g-2.2B) - $79.95

Greddy Type-S BOV - $200.00

Dejon 2 1/2 Intake Pipe: - $130.00

Dump Tube Cut

I think the key is to not cut it too short. In the VFAQ, you'll see I cut it about in half. Any shorter and you could run the risk of having the returned air going back up the intake towards the MAS.
When I cut mine and put it back in, it was much shorter than I'd have liked-- almost flush with the inner wall of the intake. But I haven't had any problems with it.

As far as the intake pipes go, I'm just guessing, but the price difference is probably due to Injen being a "name brand" and all shiny. The Dejon one looks like it would be fine. Don't know though-- I don't have either of 'em...

Yea, thats what I was thinking. But about the dejon, is the 2 1/4 worth it, or should I go for the 2 1/2? Iam just curious which one would be good for my setup. And I noticed, that the 2 1/2 one comes with extra stuff, hoses and all those little extras, doesnt seem like the 1/4 one does?

I have stock uip and 2g bov and it is pretty loud just like that.
Why do you have a 2G BOV on your 1G?

I have a 1g on my car w/ stock snorkel and cut dump tube. Its mounted to the full hahn ic piping... Its loud as hell... its a nice sound too. I say thats the best/cheapest combo.
Btw- the reason the bov sounds quiet on your friends 1g is because of the way its rerouted back to the intake. The 2gs have about 5" of pipe before it opens up in the intake, 1gs have about 16" before they return. Trust me, if you vent your friends bov for 1 pass youll know how loud they are.

my 1g with stock piping and open element is loud, amazingly though its louder than my buddies with UIP and a open element filter. and mine is also louder than both the stock awd's with open elements that run around with us. kinda weird, but you won't find me complaining.

hey! one thing i've heard is to get or make a metal pipe and mount it in place of the rubber hose to get a echo of the bov... i think it would be pretty damn loud...i need to goto the hardware store and find something that would work with it...what do ya think?

If you want loud on a 1g then replace the return tube with a metal pipe. just hack out the middle of the tube and stick on a metal pipe. This would probably be loud. Im gonna try that tonight.

Hey shadownynja, did you ever try the metal pipe trick? If so, what diameter pipe did you use? Did it change the sound at all? I might try this if it had any affect.

Now I'm not saying that you can't hear a 1g.

The greddy is audible over just about everything else in the vicinity though.

I am running the dejon tool hard intake pipe right now. I will also be running the type S and dejon tool i/c pipes whenever they get here (it's been about a month since i ordered them).

I can't think of any other combo cept for the hks ss that has a nice high pitch when dumped back in.

I usually shy away from BOV threads, but I'll bite on this one. I think the 1G is more than loud enough. Sometimes I think mine (1G) is too loud. I can't picture paying even more $$$ for a bov that would be even louder. I have found that my BOV got louder with the hard intake (injen) vs. the stock intake. Whether this is because of the material or lack of dump tube is debatable. I would say get the hard pipe and a 1G from a junkyard. This should be loud enough. If it isn't go aftermarket. You"ll only waste about 20 bucks on the 1G.

Actually, TurboXS does make a BOV that you can pipe back into the intake. I think it is called the H34? It is a version of their RFL if I am not mistaken. I have a hacked aircan and Blaha MAS. Running 16 psi, my stock (1G) bov is pretty loud. Guess it all depends on just how loud you want it though.

Well shit who knew this thread would go on this long? :D

I ended up getting the Greddy Type-S, and I have to say the sound and performance from it is more then i expected. I was going to wait to order my Dejon UICP and then put the BOV on, but I had it sitting on my desk for a couple days and said screw it, Ill put it on now.

Had it on in about 5 minutes to the stock piping, and damn. This thing is pretty damn loud, louder then I expected venting back into the intake. Iam very pleased with the way its holding boost too. Works great.

BTW...I tried it venting to the atmosphere...never again will I do that without a VPC or some heavy modding to my car. Yea, it sounded fuckin amazing and I even scared a couple people around town with it (made some guy walkin drop his bags when I blew off @ 15 psi right next to him heheh), but the car was backfiring, stumbling everytime the car shifted, and if I built up a lot of boost and let off and let the RPMs come back down, it would come a hair away from stalling and stumble back to a still low RPM. Not worth it IMO, plus the car felt a lot less responsive.
